In-play betting on Laser247, explained simply
In-play (live) betting means placing bets after a match has started. Prices change with every ball, goal or point, so the same team can be 1.50 one over and 2.20 the next. That movement is the whole attraction – and the whole risk.
How it differs from betting before the match
- Prices move constantly. The odds you tap may have changed by the time you confirm.
- There is a short delay. Live bets take a few seconds to be accepted. That is normal on every exchange and protects both sides from bets placed just after a wicket or goal.
- Markets suspend. During a wicket, review or goal the market is paused, and unmatched bets can be cancelled.
Live cricket markets
Match odds and bookmaker run through the whole game. Session markets (runs in 6, 10, 15, 20 overs), next-wicket and batter-runs markets open and close as the innings goes on. In T20, remember that wickets in hand matter more than the current run rate – a side at 120 for 3 after 15 overs is better placed than one at 130 for 6.
Football and tennis
Football prices drift steadily while there is no goal and jump when one is scored. Tennis moves point by point, with big swings around break points. Both have less money in them than cricket, so check the back–lay gap first.
Locking in a result
If you backed a team and the price has shortened, you can lay the same team to secure a profit whichever way the match ends. If the price has gone against you, the same move limits your loss. Five rules for live betting
- Your stream is 10–40 seconds behind the ground. The market already knows what you are about to see.
- Don't react to one over. Big overs swing the price, and it often swings back.
- Decide your stake before the match, not in the middle of it.
- Don't bet every session market. There's a new one every few minutes.
- Set a loss limit for the day and stop when you reach it.
